Attorney Daniel Bakondi fights for clients' interests in securities litigation and arbitration regarding non-traded REIT (real estate investment trust) investments nationwide. Investors can bring lawsuit complaints or investment arbitration claims for monetary recovery of a non-traded REIT investment against a broker who improperly sold a non-traded REIT. If you have invested in a non-traded REIT the law limits the time you have to see a recovery. FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, has put out warning notices regarding concerns of improper
sales of these investments to investors who should not be put into
them, with high upfront fees, sometimes indisclosed, and poor
investment structure. Numerous REITs have been suspended. You may be entitled to money damages or to rescind and undo your investment in a non-traded REIT, and get some, or maybe even all of you money back, sometimes plus interest. Current
yields in come non-exchange traded REITs have dropped substantially
below the dividends that were promised to the investor. Possible problems with the sale
of a non-traded REIT that may serve as the basis for your claim may
include: - If you are older or retired, non-traded REITS may not be suitable investments for you because of your need for liquidity, and access to your money in case of medical costs. Many investors are not properly informed of the illiquid nature of these investments. - A broker of financial advisor
has a high duty to a customer to reccomend proper investments.
Because non-traded REITs are not as heavily regulated, a broker
may receive far greater commission for selling a REIT, even a
poorly performing, problem-heavy, or risky non-traded REIT, because he
receives more money for selling it to you. - Non-Traded REITS also often
have a number of financial or other structural problems that are not
disclosed to the investor. The bad economy is may NOT be the
cause for the problems, poor performance, and failure of non-traded
REIT investments. Properly structured REIT investments should
have factored into them the flexibility and mechanisms to deal with
changing market cycles, but poorly devised investments do not. - Often, investors are not
informed of the risky nature, of these non-public, non-traded,
unconventional, unregulated investment.
Below is a list of REITs that investors may have purchased, not necessarily REITs with any problems. This website makes no allegations about any of the REITs listed below - it is simply a list of popular REITs.
