The law firm of attorney Daniel A. Bakondi Esq. is looking into cases of harassment of Jewish students and anti-Semitism on college campuses across the United States. Several major and Ivy League universities are are accused of allowing an environment of anti-Semitism to flourish causing harm to Jewish students.
Some universities are even accused of fostering an environment where students are allowed to threaten Jewish students, and on some university campuses, anti-semitism has been growing for decades.
Title VI 6 of the Civil Rights Act requires that schools not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national origin. Title VI lawsuits may allow for a university to be held liable if plaintiffs can demonstrate "deliberate indifference" on the part of the university. In other words, a school's response to anti-semitism and harassment as violating the statute. This can include peer to peer harassment if the university had actual knowledge, and was deliberately indifferent to harassment so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive, that it deprived students of access to educational benefits and opportunities.
